Our position
patterncrochet respects intellectual-property rights. The crochet patterns and instructions on this site are written in-house. If you believe any content on this site infringes your copyright, the procedure below will get a fast and considered response.
How to file a takedown notice
Send a notice that meets the requirements of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act §512(c)(3) to dmca@patterncrochet.net. A valid notice must contain:
- A physical or electronic signature of the rightsholder or an authorised agent.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the URL on this site where the infringing material is located.
- Your contact information (full name, postal address, telephone, email).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rightsholder or an authorised agent.
Incomplete notices may not receive a response. Notices submitted in bad faith may incur liability under §512(f).
Our response
On receipt of a complete and good-faith notice we typically:
- Acknowledge the notice within 3 working days.
- Remove or disable access to the material identified in the notice.
- Notify the contributor (patterncrochet in nearly all cases on this site) of the takedown.
- Retain a record of the notice for our compliance log.
Counter-notification
If you believe content was removed in error, send a counter-notification to dmca@patterncrochet.net that meets DMCA §512(g)(3). It must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or, if your address is outside the United States, for any judicial district in which patterncrochet may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the original notifier.
On receipt of a valid counter-notification we forward a copy to the original notifier and may restore the removed material in 10 to 14 business days unless we receive notice that the original notifier has filed a court action.
Repeat infringers
We terminate the access of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
